Tonight's service at Dalhousie Community Church was simple and sweet.
Each year Hank Klassen recites a story (or Bible chapter) from memory: truly inspiring!
What are the Christmas carols you most enjoy, dear Reader?
Any childhood memories?
Northern Lights Southern Cross is a Canadian immigrant’s journal. My spouse and I have been living in Alberta for twelve years now, and this rugged landscape has become our home. These entries describe our journey through the days...our random thoughts, our lofty dreams, our faltering steps, our bright hopes. Please join us for a brief sojourn or an entire season.

Solstice: longest night
Each year we celebrate the winter solstice when the days start to lengthen ... and my spouse's spirits rise.
Retreat!
Once a year I go on a weeklong silent retreat ... to refuel and allow my soul to catch up with my body.
This week away from work and home remains an annual highlight. My beloved spouse supports my need for solitude (although, being the quieter of the duo, he doesn't share my yearning).
I am blessed.

Dec 1: New day, new month, new blog
Greetings, dear Readers.
I have moved my blog over from nlsc2009 to nlsc2010@gmail.com in preparation of a whole new year of writing. Feel free to drop me a line, leave a comment, or simply stop by at your leisure.
As many of you know, I blog rather sporadically ... but my hope is to capture at least a few weekly thoughts.
